City of skyscrapers, perky night-life and even better food territory; Hong Kong is a city where everyone is a food lover, and people who love food will come from every part of the world to try the eateries here. Approximately 12,000 restaurants are jam-packed in this tiny territory. It is the culinary capital of Asia where traditional Chinese food is available. The food is also being upgraded by the foreign chefs who want to up-bring the market. Believe me, when I say ‘upgraded’ the ideas are quite bold!
Fusion of West and East has influenced the most basic Chinese cuisine as well. It is said that world’s best Dumplings are found in Hong Kong. That itself is going through so many changes with all new and quirky additions to taste. But nothing beats the traditional ‘Yum Cha’ which the most delicate dumpling in the world.
One of the main dishes to be tried on in Hong Kong streets is ‘steamed shrimp and crab’ dumpling. It is served in its steamed basket with a gold leaf on it. Dim sums or Dumplings are big favorites of the natives and foreigners. Nobody wants to miss out on them at any cost. So my suggestion put it on your travel list and grab on to those ‘yummy nummies’ and enjoy the authentic Chinese cuisine.
